Privacy Policy

Scrollshot is a browser extension developed by SofNxt that lets you capture full-page screenshots and scrolling videos. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.

We do not collect your data

We do not collect, store, transmit, sell or share any personal information. Scrollshot has no accounts, no sign-in and no analytics.

Your captures stay on your device

Screenshots and videos are processed and saved locally on your computer using your browser's built-in storage and download features. They are never sent to us or to any third party.

Captures are kept in local storage only so the preview tab can display them, and are automatically deleted after 24 hours. Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data.

No network requests

The extension itself makes no network requests. Because nothing is uploaded, it also works fully offline.

Permissions

Scrollshot requests only the permissions needed to capture and edit a page:

• Access to the current tab (activeTab) — to read the page you ask it to capture.
• Scripting (scripting) — to inject the capture script on demand, to scroll the page and hide cookie banners.
• Tab recording (tabCapture) — to record the current tab's video while you make a scroll video.
• Offscreen recording (offscreen) — to encode that recording to WebM in a hidden document.
• Storage (storage) — to keep your preferences and your in-progress captures on your device.
• Clipboard (clipboardWrite) — to copy an edited image when you ask it to.

Saving your finished PNG, JPEG or WebM files uses the browser's normal download and needs no special permission. Scrollshot requests no access to other sites (no host permissions) and only ever acts on the tab you choose.

What Scrollshot does not do

• It does not send any data to any server or third party.
• It does not use analytics, advertising or tracking.
• It does not load or run remote code; all code and assets ship inside the extension.
• It does not read data from tabs you have not chosen to capture.

This website

Our marketing site may be served by a standard web host that keeps ordinary server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and reliability. We do not use these logs to identify you.

Children

Scrollshot is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Continued use of Scrollshot means you accept the current version.
